About Perspectives


Perspectives is an electronic newsletter written by educators who are implementing Microsoft's Partners in Learning programs, like School Leadership, Peer Coaching, or Integrating ICT Skills into Teaching and Learning.

Perspectives offers you the chance to learn proven tips, ideas and promising practices for integrating technology into the classroom.

 

Submission Information

Perspectives is designed for:

• Educators and school administrators

• Ministries of Education in the Asia Pacific region and beyond

• All registered Innovative Teachers

Many of Perspectives’ articles are written by educators for educators. Topics for these articles include:

  • School Leadership programs
  • Peer Coaching
  • Integrating ICT Skills into Teaching and Learning
  • Local Partners in Learning programs; these are unique programs created by and for individual countries

Articles on School Leadership, Peer Coaching, Integrating ICT Skills and Local Partners in Learning Programs should address these themes:

  • The challenge faced
  • Implementation strategies
  • Results and outcomes

Other topics for Perspectives’ articles might be written by educators, or others who support the educational community. Topics for these articles include:

  • Upcoming Events
    Brief articles on upcoming educational events. Articles should include:
    • Name and brief description of the event
    • Who the audience is
    • When the event is being held
    • Where the event is being held
    • Contact information
    • Web page link
  • Spotlight
    These articles will highlight the efforts of a teacher or school leader who is successfully implementing one or more of the PiL programs.
  • Resources
     Web based resources useful to educators. Contributors will provide:
    • The title and URL of the Web resource.
    • A brief description of what teachers or educators will find on the page.
    • How it would be useful to others. 
  • Feedback
    This section of Perspectives is similar to a letters to the editor page. Educators will use this feature to comment on the value of the articles in the newsletter, how their schools or districts have used the ideas and how they have benefited.
  • The APM Corner offers Academic Program Managers an avenue to provide information about PiL programs that might be unique to their country or to share more information about PiL events or programs.

Since this is a newsletter for busy educators we are hoping you write short articles that include a few pictures or graphics. 

  • Article length
    • No more than 200 words
  • Language 
    • Please submit your articles in English 
  • Images
    • Please make sure your images are in JPEG or GIF format
    • Image size 232x175 pixels (landscape) or 175x232 (portrait)

  • "Events" give you the chance to publicize an event in your country or region
  • "Spotlight" provides the chance for you to highlight an educator who is doing an exceptional job of implementing PiL programs.
